Japan is brimming with entertainment

Dentsu works hard to build positive relationships with content holders, in order to provide the best possible entertainment content. In this context, the company is engaged in proactively planning film production committees, alliances and production with companies, event development, and the creation of original characters. We go beyond proposing the utilization of content simply for tie-ups, and design overall communications that make full use of content and proposals linked to resolving client issues.
Dentsu’s entertainment content business covers a wide range of areas, including film, television, music and live entertainment, as well as events, campaigns and characters.

◆ Video

Japanese movies

Dentsu has invested in popular titles including The Eternal Zero, When Marnie Was There and Attack on Titan. In addition, we participate in film development from the planning stage.

Western movies

The company maintains strong relationships with major Hollywood studios and has been involved in such major global hits as Les Misérables and Jurassic World.


We are involved in the planning and production of regular and single-broadcast special programs on terrestrial television, in addition to the production of content for broadcast satellite (BS) and communications satellite (CS) broadcasts, as well as the production of other distributed content.


Our organization takes part in various aspects of planning. This includes the management of production and broadcast timeslots for television animation programs, such as the Yo-kai Watch game series, animation-related theatrical productions and original video animations. We also engage in program sales and in merchandising developed for global markets.

◆ Music and Live Entertainment

In conjunction with subsidiary Dentsu Music and Entertainment, Dentsu is involved in music tie-ups, master productions, artist development and event production. We also finance live performances of music, musicals and other entertainment, as well as exhibitions.

◆ Events and Campaigns

Dentsu plans and manages events and campaigns tailored to meet client needs. In addition, we aggressively conduct sales promotion drives incorporating characters and tie-up promotions with distributors.

◆ Characters

Dentsu is involved in the use of various popular characters in advertisements and the development of original corporate characters, as well as in the development and licensing of Dentsu original characters, such as Mameshiba.

This is an exhibition simultaneously focusing on educational and entertainment content.
We will introduce the outline of this exhibition and the program for the overseas exhibition held in Taiwan from December 2018.
