Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Respect for Diversity
As Dentsu expands its communications activities, we are committed to creating an environment where we can recruit a wide range of talent, regardless of nationality, background, identity, gender, or age, and empower them to demonstrate their abilities.
Building on best practices across our Group companies, we are revising our personnel systems and enhancing career support, training, and benefits, with a particular focus on promoting the advancement of women.
Regarding the employment of people with disabilities, we are promoting barrier-free initiatives at our Tokyo office and other facilities to create an environment that enables individuals with disabilities to fully thrive and contribute. We also engage in personnel exchanges with Dentsu Solari, a special subsidiary of Dentsu Group Inc., and actively participate in related events to foster an inclusive culture.
In addition, Dentsu is committed to creating a workplace where every individual`s talents are respected without any types of discrimination. We promote understanding and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals and are actively reforming internal systems. In 2019, we introduced personnel policies that recognized same-sex partners as spouses, including leaves regarding marriage, bereavement, childcare and elder care, and flexible working hour systems. As of January 2024, we further expanded our human resources system to ensure that employees with same-sex partners receive the same benefits as those in opposite-sex marriages. These benefits include various allowances including congratulatory and condolence allowance, relocation support, and insurance coverage.

・ | PRIDE Indicators Dentsu has been awarded the highest rating of “Gold” in the PRIDE Index 2024, which evaluates companies` efforts to support LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities in the workplace. Respect for Human Rights
Dentsu defines respect for human rights as a foundational principle of the company and implements various educational initiatives, including mandatory human rights training for all dentsu Japan companies. In addition, we engage in a range of activities such as the creation of human rights slogans and posters, as well as human rights-themed art projects.

Anti-Harassment Activities
At Dentsu, in addition to the internal reporting system “Compliance Line,” which was established in 2012 to address legal violations and other concerns, we have centralized our harassment-related functions under the “Harassment Counseling Room.”
The Harassment Counseling Room has established contact points at all Dentsu offices, as well as external points of contact, to address various forms of harassment—including workplace conflicts, breaches of etiquette, and disruptive behavior—with the goal of respecting employee`s human rights and fostering a safe and comfortable work environment. It also works in collaboration with harassment consultation service across all dentsu Japan companies to prevent and eliminate harassment throughout the Group.
Furthermore, informed by awareness surveys, we implement tailored training programs and conduct ongoing employee education to prevent various types of harassment, such as power harassment and sexual harassment. We also distribute a handbook titled Essential Knowledge of Harassment, provide specific trainings to each targeted groups, post informational content on internal bulletin boards, and issue regular cautions through each division`s HRM.
