Employee participation aids community activities
To encourage its employees to convert food waste generated within their households into compost, and to give them opportunities to think about food loss, Dentsu decided to support and promote the activities of the Japanese composting company Local Food Cycling (LFC), which has launched a portable compost kit, LFC Compost.
Based in Fukuoka Prefecture, LFC is working to help make society recycling oriented by promoting the reuse of household food waste as compost. A total of 118 employees from dentsu Japan have participated in related activities.
On September 29, the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste—an initiative led by UN Environment and the FAO—LFC Representative Yuiko Taira hosted an online seminar in support of the collaborative efforts.
