Turning Human Movement into a Musical Score

Motion Score takes complicated human movements that are synchronized to a beat, such as dancing or exercise, and encodes them, so they can be recorded and managed in the same way as a musical score.

This technology can be widely applied, including to “dance jockeys.” These latter individuals represent a new type of entertainment, as part of which they offer something similar to what a disc jockey (DJ) offers.

In real time, dance jockeys manipulate the movement of robots or character generator (CG) software that produces static or animated text. The computer-based software can generate graphics and text to accompany live performances. It can also be used as an app for dance studios, to playback difficult dance steps in slow motion

Note: Motion Score is an original Dentsu development.
